Firestop Market Recovery Program

The Insulators Labor Management Cooperative Trust (LMCT) is pleased to offer this distinctive labor-management initiative from May 8 to May 11, which will exclusively address and focus in on the firestop market with the jurisdiction of Insulators Local 75.

The Firestop Market Recovery Program is designed to bring together Union Leadership and Contractors, to gain market share and increased manhours in regard to firestopping.

The goal of the LMCT is to strive to increase work opportunities for both our unions and contractors.

It is no secret that the firestop industry has been plagued with lost opportunities due to many uncertainties and obstacles within our industry. It is time that both the Local Unions and their contractors equally engage in discussing the regional demographics and characteristics and in developing a strategic plan to successfully control this market.

As part of the program, an assessment of the existing market will be conducted and compared to other areas. It will also explain best practices to ensure a customized approach appropriate for the Local 6 market.

Upon completion of the program, all parties will have gained knowledge of firestopping, its intended purpose, where to bid it and how to economically complete the work to increase the market share.
