Youturn Health and the Insulators Union Partner on Member Assistance Program

September 11, 2025

Youturn Health and The International Association of Heat and Frost Insulators and Allied Workers (IAHFIAW) announced a partnership to provide the IAHFIAW behavioral health support. The partnership is called the Insulators Member Assistance Program (IMAP) and is available to IAHFIAW members and their families.

“Taking care of our members is about more than protecting their physical safety jobs – it’s about protecting their lives and families,” said Mechanical Insulators Labor Management Cooperative Trust Executive Director Pete Ielmini. “By partnering with Youturn Health, we’re ensuring that mental health support isn’t an afterthought. It’s becoming part of the fabric of who we are as insulators, filtering through every level of the union.”

The construction industry has the highest rate of overdose deaths and the second-highest rate of suicides compared to other industries in the U.S. Workers often deal with chronic pain from physically demanding labor, limited sick leave, and cultural stigma that discourages seeking help. The IMAP program aims to address these issues head-on, making behavioral health a priority and reshaping the culture of care within the trade.

“This partnership is exciting because we all know behavioral health support is a challenge for the construction industry, and we’ve come together to do something about it,” said Hamilton Baiden, CEO of Youturn Health. “The Heat and Frost Insulators Union does a phenomenal job supporting its members, and their leadership has repeatedly shown they care about their members and want to help.  What makes this partnership unique is the willingness to put innovative solutions directly into the hands of members – and to make wellness part of the union’s culture, not just a program on the side.”

The IMAP program launched Aug. 1 and aims to reduce these trends by offering:

  • Education through an extensive video library of insightful and inspirational stories that help viewers understand the nature of stress, substance use and behavioral health.
  • Peer coaching from state-certified, NAADAC-credentialed professionals with lived experience overcoming their own behavioral health-related challenges. Peer coaches use their training and expertise to help people achieve their personalized goals.
  • Ongoing training and assessments to track progress and keep members moving toward long-term improvement.
