Insulators Member Assistance Program Update
Register Now: IMAP Monthly Town Halls On Behavioral Health In The Workplace
We’ve had an amazing response to Youturn Health and the Insulators Member Assistance Program (IMAP), in no small part to the dedication of the Local Business Managers and Union Leaders who helped us spread the word. Thank you for your support and dedication!
In an effort to bring Local Leaders together, we’re launching monthly IMAP Town Hall meetings. Each month, Youturn Health will cover a topic related to behavioral health, touch on trends in the industry and provide updates on the IMAP program.
Each Town Hall will also have a dedicated time for Q&A for attendees to ask questions and share what’s working for their Locals.
The following are the details for the next two meetings:

Holiday Stress and Sober Holidays
How to Overcome Isolation and Loneliness
Human beings are social creatures, and we’ve evolved to depend on each other for survival. While in modern times we might not rely on other people for survival as much as we would have thousands of years ago, we’re still wired for human connection. Due to this need, and despite technologies that make it easier than ever to connect to another person, almost half of American adults experience loneliness.
Booze-Free Holidays Don’t Have to be a Bummer
From eggnog to mimosas, the holidays appear to normalize round-the-clock sipping all in the name of joy, good will toward men, blah blah blah. But let’s not pretend that for some of us this wasn’t one huge buzzed-filled season where drunken nights gave way to Bloody Mary mornings. What I thought were warm and fuzzy feelings of the season with Johnny Mathis crooning Christmas carols on a 33 album was really the warmth and security I found in living slightly buzzed.
When I quit drinking a few years ago, the warm and fuzzy feelings were replaced with the cold reality that my dear friend, alcohol, had gone away and left me alone to maneuver through familial relationships (yikes) and holiday gatherings (even scarier).
Healthy Eating During the Holiday Season
The holiday season can be an extremely tough time for anyone battling disordered eating and body image, from numerous conversations about food and diets to seeing family members who may provoke unpleasant emotions. If you’re recovering from or living with an eating disorder, or if you’re concerned about healthy eating during the holidays, here are a few tips to guide you.
Grief During the Holidays
Whether it’s your first year dealing with the loss of a loved one, a loved one died during a previous holiday season, or the holidays just remind you of someone you’ve lost, grieving during the fall and winter holidays is tough. In fact, it can be tougher than the anniversary of the loss. Everything we see about end-of-the year holidays says we’re supposed to celebrate, be surrounded by family, and be in a cheerful mood.
If you’re grieving this holiday season, know your goal may not be to have a traditional happy celebration, and that’s absolutely fine. Give yourself time and space and practice self-care. Nothing will magically make grief go away, it’s a personal process that takes time to understand, but a little bit of planning may help you better manage feelings and expectations around the holidays.
5 Tips To Deal With Holiday Stress
Home Alone. It’s a Wonderful Life. National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation. A Christmas Story. What do these 4 movies have in common? Stressful situations around the holidays! Although this season can be filled with joy, for many people it also brings undesired stress that affects your wellbeing, finances, relationships and much more.
